Instruction
At Garitani Farms we believe that starting with the correct basics is the key to success. Trainer, Tanya Bowden began her riding career with Linda Chatfield and Lisa Boyer both of Whidbey Island. Under their guidance, she progressed from cross rails to the upper levels of eventing.
At age 16, Tanya went on to further her training by joining Young Riders and becoming a working student for CCI**** competitors Jonathon Elliott and Suzy Pettman-Elliott. While under their instruction, Tanya gained knowledge in teaching, training and barn management as well as competing her mare, Beam Me Up Scottie, through the Intermediate Level and FEI level. Sadly, due to the mare’s soundness issues they were unable to compete at the Young Riders competition in Chicago. Scotty, now at the age of 20, is showing the ropes to kids at the training and preliminary level.
Tanya is currently bringing along two young horses and plans to be back in the upper levels in 2009. She is dedicated to providing students with a solid riding foundation in a quality training facility. She is recognized through the United States Pony Club as a nationally rated HA pony clubber. School horses of varied levels are available for use in lessons.
